Liz Harris化名的Grouper去年的作品《Alien Observer》是我過去一年最常聆聽的睡前音樂，今年她和另一名女樂手Jesy Fortino（江湖化名Tiny Vipers）合組雙人樂團Mirrorring。首次合作的成品《Foreign Body》不脫兩人的基調，適合深夜沉思，也適合放空冥想：夢境般的吟唱，具麻醉功效的飄浮吉他音網；〈Drowinging The Call〉甚至帶點新迷幻搖滾的催眠感，年少時飲酒作樂的日子又全湧上心頭。Pop turns into whispers and suspended light in the mouth and hands of Liz Harris and Jesy Fortino. Obviously, we expected evanescent sounds from the collaboration between Grouper and Tiny Vipers, but what they have prepared for us is pure gas, six ultra-light waves of ectoplasmic drone-pop, serene visions between sleep and wakefulness. “Foreign Body,” their first album as Mirrorring, will reach the shops on March 19th by way of Kranky.
