by Martin WaltersThis Collection of Keiji Haino guitar and voice pieces is an anomaly in his expansive catalog, not only because it is one of the few that is not packaged in entirely black artwork but because it documents short miniatures in place of his standard long form improvisations. His abrasive guitar sound enamored Thurston Moore, and the Sonic Youth guitarist cited Haino as the greatest guitarist of all time during the '90s. Christophe Heenman's Streamline label released this album in 1997, and it acts somewhat as a sampler in that their is great variation in the pieces, giving an overview of the styles -- all of which are absolutely self invented.
