Originally conceived as the acoustic duo of Nate Heller (guitar) and Cori Rush (vocals), Wendy Darling began writing songs at a furious pace in the summer of 2006. As they honed their style, the two agreed that their songs deserved fuller arrangements, and they began to seek out other musicians to fill out the sound. The lineup became complete with the addition of Jon Freeman (bass, keyboards) and Hector Verdugo (drums). The band has continued to carve out their unique genre of Indie Rock by incorporating a variety of instruments including banjo, accordion, glockenspiel, piano, and samplers. The resulting album, \\...Half-Told Bedtime Stories\\ drifts seamlessly between folk, straight up rock, psychedelia, and electronica, all while keeping the sultry, honey-dripped vocals of Cori Rush at the forefront of the music. This energetic young band will captivate you with their playful style and heartfelt delivery.
