Often called the Tex-Mex Beatles, The Krayolas began life as a '70s teenage Chicano power pop garage band in San Antonio, Texas.The critically-acclaimed indie act recorded two albums, Kolored Music (1982) and Dead End Life (1987) and several vinyl 45s beginning in 1977.Regional hits included All I Do Is Try, Aw Tonight, Cry Cry, Laugh Laugh, Christmas Time, Happy Go Lucky, Sunny Day and Alamo Dragway.In 2007, The Krayolas released Best Riffs Only, a 16-song compilation of out-of-print vinyl singles. Best Riffs Only sparked an improbable comeback.
