The National Parks Project is a sweeping multimediaproject combining film, television, music, andinteractive elements to create a stunning look atsome of the most inspiring park lands of Canada.A collaboration between fifty-two of Canada'smusicians and filmmakers and thirteen of itsstunning natural settings, thirteen short filmswere made between May and October of 2010 out ofimprovised musical compositions that were capturedand transformed into a feature film, a TVdocumentary series, and of course, a soundtrackalbum.For the music side of it, the musicians would gointo the park and immediately respond to the naturethrough their instruments, producer Ryan J. Northtold AUX Weekly in a recent interview. It was avery, very physical and visceral experience. Italways blew our mind how easy it seemed like it wasfor them to channel nature into some kind ofartistic outlet.
