Co-produced by Carey, Dupri (who is a featured artist on the song) and LRoc, it is built around a sample of Just an Illusion by the band Imagination and it contains background vocals from Trey Lorenz. Shake It Off is a song co-written by American singer Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Johnt?Austin, and recorded for Carey's tenth album, The Emancipation of Mimi (2005).
