The winners of the 2002 reality TV show POP STARS: THE RIVALS--the show adopteda new twist on the Popstars theme, picking opposing boy and girl bands to battleit out in the U.K. charts--Girls Aloud triumphed when the single Sound Of TheUnderground b\u002Fw Stay Another Day topped the charts. Their cover version ofthe Pretenders' I'll Stand By You', commissioned by the Children In Needcharity, also topped the U.K. charts in December 2004.
