I wrote all the music for APOTHEON in a period of about 3 years (2012-2015) for Alientrap Games. I wanted to create a dark and epic score based on ancient Greek scales that are expressed in a blend of orchestral colors, pulsating percussion, ethnic melodies, etherial vocals, and a massive choir. Parts of the game feature a generative algorithm which makes the music recombine in almost infinite variations. My primary inspirations for this project were quite varied. Primary influences were the music of Hans Zimmer, the music from the Diablo video game series, the hypnotic minor harmonies of Philip Glass, and a wide variety of traditional music from around the world. Each area and God in the game has its own theme and sound color. From ambient and atmospheric soundscapes such as In the Forests of Olympus, Atlantis, and Trojan Shores to action driven epic battle tracks such as King of the Gods, March from Hades and For Helen battle tracks.APOTHEON is the score I always wanted to write, I hope y
