This collection features tunes from each of the band’s three song-writers (Doug Benson, Gary Knowlton, and Paul Larkin). The songs demonstrate the diverse traditions influencing each of the writers, without attempting to constrain them into a single unified “sound”. Doug’s tunes are bluesy, with a touch of Tex- Mex; Gary’s songs range from a South of the Border celebration of love, to dead-head rock and a tribute to the great folk writers. Paul’s songs showcase 50’s rock influences, some Bo Diddley, Reggae and Americana. The guys support each other on guitar, slide guitar, mandolin and harmonica, with Phil and Rick supplying the solid bass and drum foundation, and special guests adding piano, horns, accordion and other interesting sounds.
