When the fast, rollicking, bouncing beats of an old-time polka tune rule the roost, it’s time to slip into your dancing shoes – time to forget all your troubles and cares and step off smartly, foot-loose and fancy-free into the whirl and twirl of the heel-and-toe rhythm. And when fast and fancy polkas are the order of the day, we turn to the master of them all – Walt Jaworski. Here his Polka Dance Band supplies the bright and happy beat for another session on the dance floor. Happy is the correct word to describe the festivities that sometimes go on for days at a Polish wedding, at which guests sup and dance to their heart’s content. The crowning point of Young Girl At The Wedding occurs when the bride tosses her veil aside and goes through the measures of the stomp and whirl routine with her smiling groom. Happy, too, is the farm hand who’s celebrating some wonderful occasion to the spirited beat of the oberek. It’s a merry bit of rural rejoicing as one meets this Happy Farm Hand. Another polka jamboree is off to a lively start in Go Ahead, Fellows as the band proposes that the boys get on the dance floor and do their specialty steps. A vocal solo takes the spotlight next in Dancing Stars, which reveals that the stars above are shining and winking at you. Down to earth again, a light-hearted and sprightly Rheinlander, with a Gay '90s flair, captures the spirited happenings At The Village Barn. Two Way is another three-quarter time oberek, expertly fashioned by Walt and the boys. The second side of ‘Hop, Skip And Polka, Vol. 3’ begins by proving a polka’s a hit in any kind of weather. The Silk Umbrella Polka forecasts that it’s always fair weather when Walt Jaworski’s Band is spreading the musical joy. The next tune is entitled Orphan, but no one could remain an orphan for very long under the guidance of the sweet, slow and tender measures of this waltz. From Krakow is a furious polka beat, full of vigorous, fresh and fanciful rhythms. The title is derived from the beautiful city which was formerly the capital of Poland. Melon can always be in season when Honey Dew Oberek, a bright-faced melody, is dished out by the Walt Jaworski crew. And the same joyful mood is continued in Got A Little, Give A Little – a happy occasion for dancing feet with a western-polka flavoring. If Katy Does It, everything will be alright, at least, that’s the feeling Walt and the boys express in the vigorous, prance-lively oberek that concludes this exhilarating album.
