SESAC’s ‘Trilogy’ is a unique package of religious music designed for broadcasters’ needs. Within these three fine recordings, the production and program man will find material ideal for backgrounds, themes, special effects, etc. for sermons, sermonettes, and the religious days of the year including Christmas, Lent and Easter. Side 1 of the first LP in the ‘Trilogy’ series was prepared especially for Christmas and highlights Advent and Christmas carols familiar and revered by all Christians. The reverse side is a blend of general hymns and anthems for year-round programing. ‘Trilogy’s second album contains 16 religious selections that each time out at about one minute. These hymns and carols cover every topic from brotherhood to the dedication of a church building. Each bit of music is classified as to its suitability for church calendar events and national holidays such as Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. Side 1 of the final LP in the ‘Trilogy’ set is a review of carols, hymns, and anthems for the Lenten season and Easter. Side 2 completes the production with 6 more hymns and anhems ideal for general day-to-day air work. General This portion of the ‘Trilogy’ series is a collection of familiar Christian hymns. The first selection Liebster Jesu, equally known as Light Of Light, Enlighten Me, was originally composed by the 17th century writer, Johann R. Ahle – the adaptation used here on the Christ Chapel organ is by Johann Sebastian Bach. Rock Of Ages is familiar to Christians and non-Christians alike. This stalwart hymn was composed around 1830 by the renowned Thomas Hastings. An equally famous hymn of this period is Philip P. Bliss’ Almost Persuaded. The same certainly holds true for Blessed Assurance which was composed by Mrs. Joseph F. Knapp, one of the few famous women hymn writers. This gospel song, by the way, is an integral part of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Crusades. Come Thou Almighty King is universally known by all Christians and was written in the 18th century by the Italian composer, Felice de Giardini. General Presented here in the second LP presentation of SESAC’s ‘Trilogy’ are sixteen general hymns suitable for almost any religious or national occasion in a broadcaster’s schedule. Each hymn is about one minute in duration and is designed as background music for sermonettes, prayers, etc. Although these selections are general in nature and can be used almost anytime of the year, each is classified for special religious or national holidays as follows: National: Thanksgiving Day: We Come Unto Our Fathers God Armed Forces: Eternal Father, Strong To Save Memorial (Armistice) Day: For All The Saints New Year: Our God, Our Help In Ages Past Seasonal: Christmas: O Sanctissima Lent: When I Survey The Wondrous Cross Good Friday: There Is A Green Hill Far Away Easter: The Strife Is O’er, The Battle Done General: Funeral: Abide With Me Children: Fairest Lord Jesus Evening Hymn: All Praise To Thee My God, This Night Morning Hymn: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty Hebrew: The God Of Abraham Praise Men And Children Everywhere Brotherhood: Where Cross The Crowded Ways Of Life Bread Of The World
