Seeing as BLACK SABBATH is the damned biggest band on Earth, and how some ?SWEET LEAF?? can also work wonders, four freaks who share their preferences for these gods got together in the May of 2001 to meld both together in order to produce their own unmistakeable, heavy and murderish sound. This was (and still is!) the only rule that GORILLA MONSOON, to this day, follow!! Even with two of the freaks being replaced by new members who live the G.M. ? Spirit just as much if not more! The first demo ?deflowered world came to light in the autumn of 2001, a pasty, but at the same time, grooving bastard full of the the above mentioned ingredients. The second demo ?...demonstrating heavieness was released in March 2003 whereby the band presented themselves harder, more uncompromising and crazier than ever. Exactly 2 years later followed an ultra Doom split single along with the band W**d in the Head and then finally in June 2005, they entered the GCF-Laboratory Studio in Dresden, along with Tino Bensing at the mixing desk, to record the debut album. At the same time, Armageddon Music came along and signed the band, so the album has been finished and fine tuned in the Absurd Studio Hamburg and Damage King will be released under their banner in March 2006. Their record deal came by taking first place in the Metal Battle final at the Wacken Open Air festival in 2005.GORILLA MONSOON don?t just play, but they celebrate their music!!... Gigs with bands such as Disbelief, The Hidden Hand, Place of Skulls, Smoke Blow, Crack up, Dumbell, Electric Wizard, Warhorse, Rodeo Queen, W**d in the Head, an appearance at W:O:A, at Doom Shall Rise, two tours with the Finnish bands God Forsaken and Cause for Effect and and and..., have proved. Beeing the international winner of the WOA Metal Battle 2005 they will take part at this years WOA Metal Battle 06 as Special Guest and will tour all over Germany for the first time.
