Nuvonesia is a collaborative project between Mark de Clive-Lowe (Antipodean Records\u002FThe Politik\u002FFreesoul Sessions), Imon Star (Rombus) and DJ Manuel Bundy (The Turnaround). This debut album was improvised live to tape over 6 hours one mid-summer's afternoon in 2000. The album was improvised at Radio NZ's Helen Young Studios in Auckland. Although Manuel Bundy and Mark de Clive-Lowe had already collaborated a lot together, this was the first time they had worked together with MC Imon Star (son of none other than Taj Mahal). Once the red light went on, the songs just flowed and flowed. The album is raw, live and totally unedited. This is how it happened with no discussion between the members and no premeditations.. except for Mark running over to Manuel inbetween jams to give him a Charlie Parker record which, 60 seconds later, became the main scratch on High & Dry. Originally released on Kog Transmissions (2000) in NZ only, now on Antipodean digital.
