Last months debut, Mindz Kontrol Ultra's wonderful 'How Can We Stop This Loop \u002F As Far As You Can', has found fantastic support from DJ's including, Loco Dice, Thomas Schumacher, Josh Wink, Luciano, Deetron, Chris Tietjen, David K, Laurent Garnier and Afrilounge, and launched the label in the finest of fashions. This time Yellow and Hi-Tech 2 join forces once again to deliver the next big smash from Mindz Kontrol Ultra. In a scene that so rapidly evolves, there are few DJ's, Producers and Artists, that experienced the very beginning, and even fewer that have consistently maintained their position as highly respected, forward thinking musicians. DJ Yellow is, without doubt part of this select group. At the age of 13, upon inheriting his first set of turntables, Alain Ho was turned on to the wonderous sounds of artists including James Brown and Barry White. Inspired to pursue the dream of becoming a DJ, he worked tirelessly, building a reputation for his passion and talent behind the decks. This won him his first sets at some of Paris's hottest nightspots including Bain Douche and Palace. He went on to pioneer the french hip hop sound with his ground breaking sets at Chez Roger Bolte Funk. In the early 90's Alain launched Yellow Productions. The label went on to shape the 'French' sound of today with its releases. In 2003 DJ Yellow created Poussez Music where he released music from artists including DJ Gregory, Rolando, Dixon etc...In 2007 it was Yellow's three new projects that brought him critical acclaim. 'Alienation' (instrumental), 'Intermission' (with Astrid Suryanto on Vocal) and Paule (non-dance) allowed him to push his diverse sounds and inspirations to a wider audience. Yellow didn't leave the dance floor behind though, and releases, remixes and an artist album (2008's 'Intermission') have followed. Plastic City, Ovum, Wolfskuil Records and Deep Focus are just some of the imprints who's releases have felt the Yellow touch. Which brings us to today, and Yellow's brand new imprint Composite Records. Again, launched to allow Yellow to promote his own masterpieces, with no outside constraints. The imprint will feature DJ Yellow releases, as well as tracks from his brand new Mindz Kontrol Ultra project, produced alongside Hi-Tech2 (Tiago Fragateiro and Ricardo Oliveira). Hi-tech2 are Portugal's brightest talents, and first teamed up with Yellow to work on a remix for the track 'You Are', with Astrid Suryanto on vocals. So, Mindz Kontrol Ultra is the result of this old school fusion with the new trends of techno and house. Lots of groove, pumpin dance floor subs, always hypnotic. A truer description of the latest works could not be found. FUBU, is hypnotic to the max. A relentless tech groove, sublime percussion and devastatingly good vocal work, make this a sure fire floor burner. WHERE ARE WE COMING FROM again, plays with a killer vocal hook, a rounded, groove-filled bassline, and what sounds like a 'disco-windchime', finished of with some funk guitar for good measure.
