Upstart Music, circa 2008. The brain child of then UK based D-Funk. Quickly nominated at the International Break beat awards, Upstart set out it’s stall early; to release quality break beat led music from across the globe. Fast forward to ’14 & Upstart are still going strong, all be it based in Sydney, Australia nowadays. Everyone loves a good bit of nostalgier so after listening back to the tunes we’ve released, we decided to update some of our classic tunes & have drafted in an all star line up of both old & new names alike. First up Philly Blunt takes on his own ‘Feel’ with his new partner in grime, Micah Black. Together they make up the aptly named Black & Blunt. Their blend of sub rattling booty bass has gained them plaudits from all corners of the planet & over the past few years they’ve had released music on Lot49, Rat Records & Passenger. Upstart boss D-Funk takes on one of the label best selling tunes in the shape of Rogue Robot’s ‘Off My Face In ‘97’. His updated version flexes old skool 2 step garg
