This collection of solo improvisations is chronologically scattered all over the past decades and the tenor sax is prominently featured. There is nothing like a tenor…it is the quintessence of the human, male voice at its most elemental. As well on this recording there is a piano and drum track. Piano was my first instrument and has been the main tool of whatever I have learned harmonically in jazz. Playing drums is the most fun I have in music and of course I am and was privileged to have been able to “study” directly with great drummers too numerous to mention.
