Collegiate marches have always been an exciting contribution to America’s popular music domain for they express the dashing, zealous spirit of sporting events, scholastic celebrations and alumni reunions. Here, the All-American Band raises the ‘School Colors’ in an album of march favorites... stirring, gallant and enthusiastic, with the loyal fraternal Alma Mater feeling ever-prominent. Besides the title tune, School Colors by Fred Jewell, Robert A. Williams directs the band in four other collegiate entries. Columbia Post March is a dramatic tribute to the light blue and white Lions of Columbia, while March Of The Trojans musically spearheads the thrilling drive of the University of Southern California’s cardinal and gold eleven. Perseverance honors the never-say-die resolution of football teams all over the country, and the lively Phi-Kappa-Emblem is an all-inclusive salutation to the Greek-letter fraternal organizations. Among the other musical colors unfurled by the All-American Band are the regimental pennant carried by the Burma Patrol and the waving standard of an important patriotic organization that highlights The American Legionnaires March.
