Infestus is a musician, producer and DJ based in Lisbon that participated in 2010’s RBMA London edition. ‘Electric Purple’ represents the babylonian side of contemporary creation: easy pointing out the many musical influences but generally hard assembling them into a genuine sound signature. Infestus is part of the few with a creative answer to that. Title track (Electric Purple) is deep and melodic, built around an in depth sound wall yet with that neon purple aura that the cosmos is made. You could meet Ron Hardy playing this at the Box or even Detroit pioneers at their early days because what takes you back is definitely what moves you further. Bass is an important structural part of the track but it’s the way that Infestus plays the keys that definitely drives us all into the great spiritual field. ‘Afterglow’ reveals a more dark and hypnotic side of Infestus' music, that later unfolds brightness and ultimately rendition to what life is about: celebration! Voices and sound textures are organically blended by an irresistible techno pulsation. Strong enough to bring together many different tribes under the same dancing roof! B side is an outstanding (Afterglow) rework of the amazing Chicago Damn producer. He can do no wrong. This time he grabbed the techno feel, slowed it down and put into a sonic dub trajectory.
