RECAST is the new moniker of Kostas Soublis aka FLUXION. The idea driving the RECAST project is to create an emotional and rhythmical palette that works with beats or without beats, expressing moods in an impulsive way; working with long musical themes, mixing live in one take. The idea is about capturing the moment, allowing impulse to define the path, but only after careful consideration of which elements to use. So what we get is indeed a long workout with beats and another workout, slightly shorter, without beats. Consensual is a blissed-out track in both forms. The experience of years of precision crafting dubby tech soundscapes is brought to these tracks, which are grooving House vibes executed in the melodic but quirky manner of Isolee or Luomo. And like both these producers, RECAST demonstrates his class with the quality of his sound, his frequencies and his attention to detail, using the House and Balearic template as a starting point. Sam Cassman aka Dodger Man dons his new moniker, Lorca Music, to create a remix that uses the vibe of the original as a foundation, that weaves through a clattering, skittering groove that is somewhere between 2-step and Brokenbeat, The result is heavy and provides a nice alternative to the two RECAST versions.
