We wouldn't be far off the truth if we described Team Maria as a cross between IAMX (taking into account the vocals) and the retro modernist national pop sounds that dressed up the works of António Variações. But that description would stil be lacking the many wandering in-betweens that Team Maria inhabit naturally within those two above-mentioned names” (Carlos Matos). On the 17th of May of 2008 with only 15 days' existence as The Team Maria, they play their first gig as a trio, Nuno Rancho as vocalist, André Moinho on the guitar, vocals and programming, and Luis Jerónimo on bass and vocals. They played 5 pop songs oriented towards the dancefloor, purposely written for that concert. The adventure went so well that given the enthusiasm from the crowd they decided to expand their repertoire and continue the experiment. In October 2009 they won the Levis Unfamous Music Awards and were then invited by students from Universidade Lusófona to film a video-clip for the song On Fire. In 2012 they release their debut album, “Do It Everywhere”.
