Princess Him - While an electronic whizz kid operates his equipment in the backround in classic synthcore-duo style, the stroboscope-lit frontline is occupied by a young Madonna Louise Ciccione reborn as a stripshow diva, scantily clad in an Ibiza-in-the?early-80s-look. I know what youll say : In a town dominated by the slick sound of the post Kruder & Dorfmeister school on one hand and by the strict Mego avantgarde on the other Princess Him might sound like a revolution, but in the real world out there the porno pop of peaches or Miss Kittin reigns the summer supreme anyway ? so whats the big deal ? Well, no offence to the Canadian pink latex-mistress or the french nu wave-feline. But Princess Him are a different thing alltogether. Think a mixture of Electro-Disco and House with an experimental twist, instead of last weeks electroclash-groove. Think also a voice that brims with soul and arrogance (let alone sex) and that needs no vocoder. It is the special mix that makes this cocktail so exceptionally tasty. A cocktail, whose ingredients were first mixed about a year ago when Czech exile Barca came from London to Vienna, her favourite city and met Andreas Pils a/k/a Lizer M. Pils had been looking for an ultimate twist to add to his electro-songs for quite a while, never really thinking in terms of voices but rather experimenting with instruments. Yet both musicians found some common ground which they thought worthwhile to explore together. For two days Barca a/k/a Baxant and Andreas disappeared from the face of the earth, only to resurface with their first single ?Gone?.Besides the ?Album Version? and a ?stripped down electro disco dub ? remake by Lizer M. klein records label head CHRISTIAN CANDID adds his dirty walking remix, a dancefloor damaging Italo-Electrohouse bodyrocker.
