Space Bounce - J Beatz Available 11th April 2014 on MFR Records J Beatz follows up his last release ‘Duality’ with the grimey Space Bounce EP. Released by MFR Records and available digitally to purchase on 11th April 2014, the EP consists of three tight productions from the North London producer. As predicted from the EP tittle, all the productions have a bounce, bite and boldness to them yet each offering something a little different. The Space Bounce EP starts off with the misty cold Space Bounce, this can be described as a 6 minute fusion of music, speeding through at 140 bpm and a sub low bass line as its foundation it also possesses minor elements of ambient and house sounds. J Beatz explains it was the inspiration behind this track that motivated him to make the whole Space Bounce EP. He says: “This one was inspired by a night out I had in London, the club was playing lots of different genre’s and created some mad vibes amongst the crowd, after I made Space Bounce I wanted to carry on and make some tunes that give the same feel good vibe”. Team Space Bounce up with any credible club sound system and it will definitely be the bass track that ravers will be craving for. The ever so grimey Bass and Clap takes you back to the golden age of grime. Providing a proper screw-your-face-up-till-your-ugly-in-the-face bass, with no spookiness or oriental influence like most new age grime producers, J Beatz goes back to the basics of what a grime instrumental should sound like and will have you questioning why MC’s like D Double E and Footsie haven’t sprayed their bars on this beat yet. The complete opposite to the last track on the Space Bounce EP this fully texturized and up tempo track will have any rave booming from wall to wall. The Space Bounce EP ends with the uncomplicated yet catchy 138 Leng. Proving that you don’t need a layered track to be anything less than hard hitting, J Beatz takes advantage of some simple kicks and snares available to create a South African inspired track yet still maintaining a humble London inspired grimey bass. The claps and other forms of percussion used in this track will have you bopping your head for sure and at a small nudge have your feet moving in all sorts of ways you didn’t know you were capable of. With 138 Leng ending the Space Bounce EP the best is yet to come from the 21 year old producer.
