Denise Young is an American pianist and song writer. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri. She learned to play by ear at a young age and began taking piano lessons at the age of five. As a teen, she often accompanied her father, also an accomplished pianist, on gigs playing duets with him and filling in during breaks. She attended Maryville University, St. Louis, earning a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy, where she studied classical piano techniques with Dr. Katja Georgieff, a music director and Saint Louis Symphony concert pianist. Denise's second album, "Something You Dream Of...", was produced by Grammy winner, Will Ackerman (Founder of Windham Hill Records)and was nominated for Best Instrumental Piano Album in 2007.
