Gregory Wolynec is the music director and conductor of the Gateway Chamber Orchestra. Performances under his direction have been hailed as "world class," "flawless," and "big, bold, American." The GCO's 'Chamber Symphonies' and 'Wind Serenades' recordings were released by Summit Records in SACD format. They have received critical acclaim in the American Record Guide, Fanfare, The Instrumentalist and in various online sites. 
 
Wolynec is a professor of conducting at Austin Peay State University where he oversees the graduate program in Instrumental Conducting as well as directs the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra and Opera Theatre performances. Composers such as Libby Larsen, Lee Hoiby, Anthony Plog and Jeffrey Wood have praised his interpretations. He holds degrees from SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music and Michigan State University. He was a Fulbright Grant recipient to Prague, Czech Republic where he also studied conducting at the Prague Conservatory.
