Meet Ethan Jay, an emerging Singer/Songwriter from the UK Midlands. Ethan has always had a huge interest in music from a very young age, being influenced by his mother who also performed as a vocalist around the Midlands. However, he only started to take his interest in music more seriously as he left school. At the age of 16, Ethan bought his first acoustic guitar where he began learning basic chords and songs through YouTube. Most of Ethan's spare time would be spent practising and learning new songs. At the age of 17 Ethan was influenced a lot by bands such as The Calling and The Fray with their acoustic/piano based sound and powerful catchy melodies. He began experimenting with writing similar songs, most of which he scrapped. But Ethan soon had a bunch of songs under his belt and on his 18th birthday got straight in the studio to record them. He soon became very interested in the recording side of things, but he couldn't afford to do this all the time, so he began to slowly build up his own home studio learning something new each time he recorded. After a couple of minimum wage jobs, Ethan was given an opportunity to move to London for 6 months, to be managed and record an EP after a company was interested in his music. But unfortunately, this did not work out for him and after the 6 month period he moved back home to continue writing. Ethan is currently gigging around the UK as a cover act on a regular bases, also producing his own EP that never came out of London, appropriately titled "Back Home".
