D-Ground was started by Jona's brother Thomas who left the band to go to England. D-Ground is made up of four guys; Sajid, Jona Anno and Jan they were inspired by people such as N'Sync and Backstreet Boys to persue their musical aspirations. D-Ground don't want to be called a boyband but they are a band which creates music with an urban and pop influence. Since the year 2000 D-Ground have been doing shows together as a group but in 2004 Anno and Jan applied for the TV talents show "Popstars the Rivals" in the hope that they could get D-Ground some recognition. Anno got through to the finals and joined the winning boyband Men2b however he was unhappy with the band because his heart belonged with D-Ground and so he left Men2b to carry on his dream with his best friends and brothers D-Ground. From that moment D-Ground started to get recognition and fame and were invited to do big festivals and also appear in magazines such as The Hitkrant which is a popular magazine in Holland. The guys have since got a record deal with Top Trax records www.top-trax.com and also D-Ground have fans (aswell as fansites) in the UK,Belgium and Germany which is a unique thing because (at the time of writing) they haven't even released their single yet!! D-Ground's debut single "You Gotta Be" came out on the 20th february 2006 in holland and was for 3 weeks in the top 40 in holland!! They are now working on their second single "My Girl" which will be released 1st september in the netherlands, You can hear it by going to www.d-groundonline.com and going to the media section, where u can also watch the video and hear the remix!! D-Ground are also working on their debut album "Born Ready". Keep checking www.d-groundonline.com and here for more information!!
