Omnisoul was formed in the spring of 2002 in Newark, Delaware with Derek Fuhrmann (vocals/guitar), Wayne Silver (guitar), Jamie Orlando (keyboard), Josh Berger (bass), and Tyler Ingersoll (drums). These five musicians were friends who had been playing together in other well-established bands, but decided to combine their talents and form a new group with a new kind of sound. The members' past collaborations gave Omnisoul an immediate and unique chemistry: Their very first gig was a local Battle of the Bands, and the group walked away with first place. Since then they have been hard at work writing new material, gigging, and building a devoted following in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New York.  
 
Omnisoul's sound combines a sense of electronica with solid, vibrant songwriting. It could be described as a cross between David Gray and Dave Matthews; Fuhrman's evocative, emotional vocals soar over synthesizers, electronic beats, and acoustic and electric guitars. The band's members are influenced by the likes of John Mayer, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, and Coldplay, and represent a new generation of artists who bridge the gap between electronica and rock with ease and style.
