The ultimate test for an electric guitarist is cutting it in a trio context and the "Kansas Tornado" Terry Quiett leaves absolutely no doubt as to his bonafides. Following two acclaimed studio CDs, he, bassist Aaron Underwood and drummer Rodney Baker have created a lasting "record" of what they do best - rock an audience until they shake, rattle and roll.
The achingly slow "Long Saturday Night" allows the crowd to exorcise their "blues" along with Quiett, made all the more poignant for his instrumental restraint. The solo slide blues of "The Horizon" reveals a man spiritually and physically at one with his guitar as they both "sing" in unison in a stunning display of virtuosity. Showing the span of his musical "horizons," Quiett adds a significant dollop of pure soul to Springsteen’s "Cover Me" for a funky, dramatic blues rocker with a scalding solo. Taking it up a notch, Quiett plays simultaneous rhythm and lead and sings on the pumping "Gimme Some," enlisting the willing audience for support on the suggestive chorus. Boosting the energy quotient, the slide-driven "Weak-Minded Man," about a common male malady, rumbles through the auditorium with Baker hitting the skins like thunder, a dynamic drop in volume preceding a climactic, squealing wah wah solo.
Covering Hendrix is required dues for any self-respecting guitarist and Quiett does epic justice to "Hear My Train A’Comin’" with blues-cured vocals and searing slide to make the classic his own. "Just Friends" maintains the moody ambience with a minor key, silky smooth R&B love story containing the stinger, "Tell you time and time and again, that we’re just friends." With Underwood setting the syncopated groove on "Short Dress," Quiett makes no bones with, "I’m a sucker for a short dress," his snaky slide echoing the sexy hook of the chorus and virtually "talking" in the solo. Taking on another established guitar hero, Quiett closes his spectacular performance with a rousing, cathartic version of "Forever Man," famously recorded by Clapton, and producing tremendous drama with lowered dynamics before he soars with his guitar to stratospheric heights of musical ecstasy.
No amount of technique can ever make up for a lack of passion or commitment to the music. Terry Quiett has an extraordinary amount of each to generously share with his many loyal fans. It is a rare harmonic convergence not to be missed.

BIOGRAPHY
Since 2006 the Terry Quiett Band has logged 200,000+ miles and played over three-hundred shows across America's Heartland. From 6th Street in Austin to Beale Street in Memphis, they've mesmerized audiences with their original and contemporary blues-soaked sound. They've also paid their share of dues (and tolls) traveling the Rocky Mountains of Denver, the blue grass of Kentucky, and every state in between, winning fans and expanding their core grassroots audience with each performance.
Their self-produced 2008 CD titled "Cut the Rope" sold out and helped spread TQB's inventive blues-rock to over 300 hundred radio stations worldwide (including tracks spun on syndicated blues shows such as: Bluesville XM, Blues Deluxe and House of Blues Blues-mobile, and being ranked on the Top 20 radio chart in Maine for three consecutive months).
But it was their 2011 album "Just My Luck" recorded with world renowned, Grammy-winning producer Jim Gaines (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carlos Santana, Steve Miller Band, George Thorogood, Luther Allison, Albert Collins) that really raised the stakes and their profile to another level. It received glowing reviews across the globe and was in the Top 100 most played albums of 2011 on the Root Music Report Blues Chart.
Along the way the Terry Quiett Band has shared the stage with international guitar legends including B.B.
