Subsonic Park is a new project of Gabriel Le Mar and Alex Azary and oscillates between the repetitive sound patterns of urban club culture, the deepness of dub as well as modern technology. The origins of Subsonic Park date back about 10 years ago. "At our gigs as Aural Float, my partner Alex used to be at the turntables and I played with my synthies and samplers in real-time. This way, our shows were always a mixture of DJ performance and live act. Now, this special mix of club music and experimental electronic music also characterizes the productions by Subsonic Park as far as tempo, deepness, syncopic chords and dub sequences are concerned ... energetic tracks without bass kicks." (Le Mar, 2009). Against this background, they developed the basic idea of Subsonic Park: "Deep ambient dub tech without ostensible bass drum, but, nevertheless, full of energy. With a modern sound framework, but aesthetically referring to the Aural Float productions Elektrolux started with in 1995. By Subsonic Park, we deliberately wanted to step on a new ground, a mutual insemination of club culture and home listening. Fortunately, there is a clear trend towards a new definition of electronic dub at the moment when thinking of labels like Styrax or Deepchord. Moreover, Subsonic Park is a tribute to our musical roots: Of course the Basic Channel series, Luke Slaters 7th Plain releases as well as the experimental Detroit Techno tracks, Carl Craig's early productions on Retroactive up to various Underground Resistance releases just to name a few examples." SUBSONIC PARK 2009 having initiated and influenced a variety of electronic genres and projects with their renowned label elektrolux and their project Aural Float, Gabriel Le Mar and Alex Azary now reinvented themselves and return with even more groove and club sounds as their new outfit Subsonic Park, now clearly aiming on floors and clubplay worldwide, accompanied with a restructure of elektrolux, expressed by launching a new label id, e-lux records. Still presenting audio and visuals, the focus now is clearly on the floor and on more functional grooves and sounds, with their dj gigs and live shows, Subsonic Park are melting the finest and most advanced tracks between dub- tech, tech-house, loop house and deep techno. Having played on various events, festivals, clubs and after hours (TimeWarp, Merkwürdiges Verhalten, o2 World on Tour, Love Family Park, Green & Blue, Cocoon, Pollerwiesen,...) in the course, Subsonic Park expanded their performance. returning further to their roots and including dj sets again, Subsonic Park in the meantime plays an advanced mix of freshest releases and special versions, starting to rock the floors on their own unique way, taking the crowd on a journey of hope and joy, while keeping it pumping and always deep...
