      "If you want it done right, do it yourself." A motto that independent and unsigned rock/hip hop band Almost Kings from Atlanta, Georgia is a living example of. They recently found themselves playing at the 54th annual Grammys in Los Angeles. After beating out 915+ other bands from around the country, Almost Kings was named the winner of the CBS contest “Garage to Grammys.” Literally hundreds of thousands of voters logged onto the CBS Grammy site on Facebook to vote for their favorite band. The group consists of Bryan “Boze” Bozeman (vocalist), Ryan Yunker (guitar and vocals), Danny Helms (bass and vocals), and Kevin Compton (drums). “We are so honored by all of the support we have received from our fans from around the country. We could not have won this contest without the AK family,” said Bozeman. 
 
Almost Kings was named “Best Local Rock Act” of 2011 by Creative Loafing. Since the group formed in 2008, they have performed more than 800 shows across the country, developing a loyal and enthusiastic fan base and earning them the reputation as today’s “road warriors.” From Miami, FL to Burlington, VT to Seattle, WA to San Antonio, TX, Almost Kings has literally crisscrossed the country, earning fans at every stop. As one fan posted “Almost Kings has an unbelievable energy and passion for their music and fans.” Another fan adds, “They love making great music and the whole audience gets caught up in the cyclone of fun they spin.” Their sound is a fresh mix of rock, hip hop and energy that is unique to Almost Kings. Teri Green of GO Play Entertainment says, Almost Kings is "making their own mold by taking all of their varied musical influences and making it uniquely theirs...they own it. It doesn't allow you to stand still, but forcibly draws you and the crowd into cohesive musical mayhem. Truly one of the best live acts touring right now anywhere."

Following their performance at The Grammys, Almost Kings embarked on the national Energizer Tour, which kicked off February 18 in Atlanta, GA.
