Scott Jarrett has been a prolific contributor to the music scene for decades. After releasing two singles in Canada, Scott’s first album “Without Rhyme or Reason” on GRP records (no longer available) was recorded in New York City in 1980. His recent self-produced album entitled “The Gift of Thirst” was completed in 2005. It was recorded at Monkey House Recording Studio in Hudson, Wisconsin. Monkey House is Jarrett’s own production studio built into his remodeled garage. He has produced several CDs there for himself and other artists including Jennifer J. Holt, Steve Siekkinen, Mary Kleuh, Gazillion, Dan Musselman, and a host of others. Jarrett has composed original music for theatre, including music for “Stephanie Hero” (written by Mark Medoff, author of “Children of a Lesser God”) He was the music director of the Broadway hit “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” for the final year and a half of its run on Broadway. He composed and worked on the production of music for many national jingles including Buick, Sprite, and Lowenbrau beer. Scott has also toured extensively as a guitar player and singer. Scott has worked with artists as diverse as jazz great Dave Grusin (GRP) and country music’s Willie Nelson. Scott co-designed and operated 39th Street Music in New York City, a studio who’s impressive client list included The Ramones and Cindy Lauper, to name a few. .Jarrett designed ThunderBird Recording Studio and ThunderBird Recording School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was it’s chief engineer and educational director for four and a half years. Scott also taught recording techniques at Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts for three years. He has been the Recording Department Head and the Recording Course Coordinator at McNally Smith College of Music for the past 9 years. Scott Jarrett is the co-author of “The Dummies guide to Music Composition” with Holly Day. Jarrett continues to find a contemporary voice in his music.
