With a knack for blending huge hooks with unique harmonies and weaving them into innovative lyrics, performer/songwriter Jason Carroll has managed to compose songs that cross traditional boundaries and blur the edges between them. Best described as “Top 40 hooks mixed with intelligently inspired lyrics spun on a modern rock edge ”, LIVY HIGH’s songs appeal to a very broad demographic. From the alt-country feel of “Answers” to the rock radio groove of “No Angel” and back again to the Top 40 hit-ballad sound of “Stay”, there’s something for everyone who loves music.
Starting in the Fall of 2007, Jason Carroll set out to write an album that encompassed his creative desires and musical spirit. A fan of catchy Top 40 songs and the heavy guitar sound of rock radio, Carroll noticed he could combine the two into something powerful. Working tirelessly over that winter with manager Bryan Beets, a plan was laid out to maximize Jason’s performing and writing abilities. Taking a “no B-side” approach, the songs were noticeably improving with each being better than the last. In February 2008, armed with 11 songs, Jason went to producer Rick Beato ( Shinedown , Dark New Day ) and created “Love, Hate, and Everything In Between ”. With arguably 11 singles, LIVY HIGH has set the bar for what an album should be: great songs with no filler.
