Lynette Hawkins-Stephens, a member of the First Family of Gospel Music, The Legendary Hawkins Family. Lynette could be heard on her brother, The Late Bishop Walter Hawkins Love Alive series which included classics such as Be Grateful, There's A War Going On, Dear Jesus, I Love You and many more! 

Lynette recorded as lead vocalist with The Hawkins Family, and her other brother, The Father of Contemporary Gospel Music, Edwin Hawkins' Music & Arts Seminar and sold hundreds of thousands of albums and established Lynette's national reputation as a Gospel singer with great power. 

In 1987, her brother Walter produced her first solo album, "Baby Sis". It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Soul Gospel Performance. Baby Sis was followed by 1991's "Walking in the Light", which also generated critical acclaimed.

She has recorded background vocals for Angela Borfill, Michael Bolton, George Duke, Whitney Houston and Jeffery Osborne. She was a featured vocalist on Eaeth, Wind and Fire Touch The World recording and recently performed Live on her dear friend, Donnie McClurkin cd. 

Her commercial credits include Chevrolet, Foster Farm, The Gap, Mazda and KBLX Radio. Lynette was a cast member in the Steve Martin Movie, "Leap of Faith" and a featured vocalist on the MCA Soundtrack recording. 

Lynette's eighteen years of theatrical credits includes her stunning performances with Jennifer Holiday and the original touring of the New York production, "Sing Mahalia, Sing!". She next appeared in the national touring company of the gospel play, "Mama Don't!". Then she went on to perform the featuring female lead in "Raisin!", with co-star Peabo Bryson and Jeffrey Osborne. 

Lynette now serves on the Praise and Worship team at her home church, Love Center Ministries where her brother, Bishop Walter L Hawkins founder and pastored before his passing.
