London, Ontario, Canada – The Lotus Theory releases their first album entitled, “All Things Change When We Do” The seven song debut features an incomparable use of production, songwriting, direction and sound, a refreshing change in the Canadian independent music scene. Musically, the album is decidedly pop, but not like the pop you think of when you hear the term. “All Things Change When We Do” takes the dark elements of the genre, filters out the mundane, mixes it up and throws it back at you in a down tempo barrage of hooky guitar lines & vocal melodies that manage to take residence in your head for days. 
Upon initial listening it is clear that this album is needed dose of something different as well as something that is brutally honest, both in music and lyric. Front woman, KB writes about many of the issues surrounding our current society. In relating to her own personal experiences, she intimately describes how many of us truly feel in the modern age, disconnected from ourselves and each other in our everyday lives. Lyrically, this album is powerful, engaging and offers an uncomfortable truth into the darkness of human nature and human influence. From a performance point of view, each track on the album clearly demonstrates KB’s undeniable vocal talent and character. Ranging from the airy and young vocal style of verses (Lost and Found & Nothing Really Matters) to emotion laden outro choruses (Waterfall & Blooming) KB offers listeners unforgettable performances of conviction and certainty. 
Musically, “All Things Change When We Do” is equally as intriguing. Produced by keyboardist, Darryl Lahteenmaa, the album takes on the sensibilities of British & Scandinavian pop, ambient synth electronica, down tempo soul and hip hop rhythm patterns and somehow combines them into a contemporary pop-format that is comfortably familiar. The music arrangement is a highly melody-driven interaction of warm tube guitar tones and Fender Rhodes electric piano, sitting on top of a deceptively simple, hard-hitting backbeat. Recording of the album was completed at their personal studio, Blackmaple studios, in London, ON at the end of 2008. 
“The goal of the recording was honesty. We just wanted to be ourselves and remain true to what we thought was right, not just in the songwriting, but in the recording process as well. There’s real people on this album, and there’s real mistakes on there too. Humans aren’t perfect. Music should be no different.” 
This isn’t to say this album is sub-standard by any means. It’s the opposite. The Lotus Theory has respectively rediscovered what good talent, good songwriting and good production can amount to. “All Things Change When We Do” offers a musically un-homogenized contribution to the industry. It is an exceptional album with distinct personality, and is unapologetic in doing so. 
Three videos were produced to support this album,“Lost and Found”, “Hold Me Down (Live)” and “Losing Myself (Live)”The video for"Lost nad Found" was featured on the Yahoo/Google online video contest and was honoured by being voted the fan favorite. Soon after, K.B. made her second video appearing in the acclaimed Neverending White Lights video, “The World is Darker” (2008) featuring Melissa Auf Der Maur (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins). 
Following the release of, "All Things Change When We Do", The Lotus Theory has taken to the stage, playing shows all over southwestern Ontario. In addition, their album is in rotation on both traditional and internet radio stations. They are currently recording for a series of constant releases set to begin in March 2009.
