Wewerebornin1987asa"newwave"bandatthedownofRussia'slastrevolution("Perestroika").TheKGBreignedandtherewere 
politicalrestrictionsoneverything,includingforeignmusic,whichbroughtwithitaspiritoffreedom.Wewrotesociallyacutetypesofsongs, 
intertwinedwithdeeplyrics.Wedressedinblackshirts,andbandagedourwristswithredclothtoshowasignofhowweperceivedthe 
world,andhowtofitintoaregimethatlimitedthefreedomsandcreativityoftheirpeople.Wechosetobethewarriorsofromanceasour 
image,whichopposedthebrutalandpowerfulsystem.Wewereallsickenedbythefalsepoliceregime,artificialSovietmusic,andeven 
thenew"rockculture",whichcarriedtheideologyofdamage,itwaslikeafeastduringatimeofplaque.Wesawthingsinadifferentlight, 
ourviewwas,andbeautywouldsavetheworld!Wehadseenthebeautyandknewwehadtoshareitwithpeoplewhohadgonemadby 
wildpassions.Weknewitwasthebeauty(harmonyifyouwouldlike)thatwasinneedofprotectionandpromotion.Wehadbelievedthe 
balanceof"good"and"evil"hadbeenbroken.Orthodoxclassicalmusicculturewasunabletoinfluencethemindofthemodernman, 
steepedintechnologicalproblems.Therewasaneedforapowerfuloppositiontothedisharmony.Itcouldbegivenbytheincredible 
strengthandbeautyofart. 
 
Gatheringasaband,werealizedourgift(talent)couldbedevelopedtoincredibleheights,andthuswebegantodoso.Inthosedays,the 
"synthesizer"soundedlikea"God".Youcouldcountonyourfingersthenumberofpeoplewhohadaccesstoelectronicmusical 
instrumentsandmodernmusictechnology.WewerebroughtupinthebrilliantworksofKraftwerk,Jean-MichelJarre,GiorgioMoroder,Visage,Ultravox,andYello.Wecouldonlydreamofdoingthesame.EugeneTitkovwithouthavingand 
formaleducationcomposedhisownsongsonaPolishbrandpiano,Legnica.EugeneKomarovhadgonetoschoolforguitarandhad 
organizedastudentbandwithaprimitivesoviet-madedrummachine,electroorganandtwoelectricguitars.Thevisiontocreateamusicalbandcamelongbeforeourfirstmeeting.We 
metatabandrehearsalwherewebroughtupthenamesofthebandsUltavoxandVisage,twoofourfavorites.Weneedednoother 
commongroundwewereinstantlybrothers,ifyouwant-brothersinarms.Andwebegantoworkonnewmaterialinthestudio,which 
wasaplainroomonthesixthfloorofadormitoryfacility.Wehadlotsofideasandenergy,butthemeansbywhichtoexpressourselves 
leftmuchtobedesired.Therewerenumerousattemptsfindinvestorsorsponsorstopurchasethemuchneededequipmentfor 
developingelectronicmusic.Itwasandremainstheonlygenreinwhichweintendtoestablishandfurtherthesongsandmusicthrough, 
becausewefeltfreefromtheconstraintsoftheso-called"live"instrumentsofelectronicmusiconly.Wewantedtocreatenewworlds,fullofnewanduniquecolors.Allthiscanonlybedone 
inthesynthesisofsound.Inaddition,wealwaysappreciatedthatwewerechildrenofthespaceera,andthatwegrewupintheageof 
activedevelopmentofcybernetics.Itwasabeautifultestimonywithlimitlesspossibilitiesofrectificationformanandhisdivineessence. 
Webuiltonthatphilosophy.ThenfortunesmiledonuswhenEugeneTitkov'ssisterhadmentionedourloveofelectronicmusictothe 
leadershipoftheNovosibirskComputerLab.Weoutsourcedthelaboratorystaff,whichenabledustousehishomecomputersAGAT 
series,usingtheoriginalsoundcardthatwasdevelopedinthissamelaboratory.Thefirstdemonstrationofourworkdrewgreatsuccess, 
andbecauseofthis,wegainedaccesstotherecordingstudioofNovosibirskStateConservatorytocontinueourexperimentswiththe 
creationofelectronicmusic. 
 
Weknewthattocreateoutstandingpiecesofmusicthatweneededmostoutstandingideasandexcellentarrangements.Weagreedthat 
wewouldcontinuouslyworkoneachsonguntilitwasequallyimpressiveastherecognizedmastersofthetime.Weonlyhadstudiotime 
fromeveninguntilmorning,soduringtheday,weworkedtofeedourfamiliesandourselvesandatnight,welearnedtocreatethemusic 
thatbothpleasedothersandus.Thefirstseveralmonthsofwork,wededicatedtothedesignanddevelopmentoftheproprietary, 
technologyofelectronicmusicwithoutcomputersandsequencersbecausewedidnothavetheminthestudio.Wehadtomanagetouse 
aMIDI,whichcontrolledoneoftwodrums,insteadofafourpolyphonicsynthesizer.Somepartswehadtoplaybyhand,writingdownall 
thearrangements,sowecouldtapethemusingthecodedsynchronization.Itwashellishwork,butitgaveusinvaluableexperienceso 
thatwereachedthelevelofamusicShoaling,andtheresultswouldbeforthcoming. 
 
From1987to1991,wecalledourselves"OWLSTYLE":Underthisname,wehadourfirstgigattheclub"Holiday"inthesummerof1991. 
Thesongsweplayedwere"GoldenSlumbers","JusttheCat","LandofPlay","AftertheWords"allofwhichwerespinningatthestudent 
discosacrossNovosibirsk.Wewerethreethen:VitalyVolokitin-leadvocals,EugeneTitkov-songwriter,composerandbackingvocals, 
EugeneKomarov-composer,programmingandsound.Inlate1991wedecidedtorenametheband,theformernameseemedtooexotic 
forthattime.Until2009,wewere"AT-home".Intheautumnof1992,weparticipatedinaspecialshowonregionaltelevision,whereweshotourfirsttelevisionclip.Howeverthe 
lackofmoderncommunications,thedevelopmentofmusicalmarketandthefreecyberspaceasitistoday,didnotallowusthechanceto 
gainpopularityasquickly.Duetonothavingreceivedsupportandpromotion,welaterbrokeupin1993.EugeneTitkovhassince 
managedthemarketing,EugeneKomarovworkedonthedevelopmentofthemusicalsoftwareinNTONYXLab,andVitalyVolokitinhad 
lefttown.However,welaterlearnedthatinNovosibirskwehadanindependent"AT-home"fanclub.Afterthreeyearsofcreativecollaboration,thebandrecordedtwofull-lengthalbumsEagleHills(1991)andGoldenSlumbers(1992).Moreover,inFebruary2010wewerethetopicinaforumoffamous 
electronicmusichttps://synthema.ruwhereindependentlistenersopenedfourdiscussionsdedicatedtoourpastandpresentcreativity. 
In2003EugeneTitkovinspiredbythemastershipandenergyofsomeoftheworldfamouselectronicandnewwaveartists,beganto 
writesongsonceagain.Inhishomestudio,herecordedthesong"FireinOne"(alsoknownas"TheSongofSkyGear").Atthattime, 
itwasonlyaninstrumentalcomposition.Thetrack"FireinOne"immediatelyimpressedEugeneKomarov,eventhoughitwasonly 
recordedonasinglesynthesizerYamahaPSR170.Overthenextthreeyears,EugeneTitkovwrotemoresongs,allthewhileloving 
whattheyweredoingmusically.Theyeachhadtheirperfectskill.Theystudiedthelatesttrendsinelectronicmusicandexperimented 
withit.WhenEugeneKomarovdevotedmoreofhistimetothemusicandtheyresumedworkingtogetherathishomestudio. 
Nowafter17yearsofsilencetheyhavecompletedworkonthenewalbum 
"Fine!Shine!"andtookthenewnamee-gens.Thebandmembersfrom2007untilpresentareEugeneTitkov-songwriter,composer,vocals,andEugeneKomorov-co-authorofsongs,composer,programmingandsound. 
 
Inthesummerof2009,thefirstsongsofthenewalbumwererecordedandreadyfordistribution.Weknewthatthingshadchanged 
overtheyearsandthingsintheworldhadchangedaroundus.Withthenewprojectcameanewnameandthatwas"e-gens".Thenamewaschosenwiththehelpofself-developedproceduresofnamingandhasamultifacetedsymbolicmeaning.Weknowthatwehavereachedsuchaskillthatwe 
inspireourlisteners,bringnewdiscoveries,anditwillliveinthefaithwiththem.Allthisisinourname,andourmusic,andwordsofour 
songs. 
 
Wetookthefirststepstopromotee-gensinJuly2009whilewewereunsignedbyanyLabel;wedecidedtounleashourmusicalprojectindependently.Welaunchede-gensprofilesdirectlytothreewell-knownresourcesthatarerecognizedinthemusicworldasthemostpromisingareasofpromotionsforyoungprojects.Ourbestresults 
camefromtheworld抯largestsocialnetworkMySpace.Overthepast10months,wehavereceivedover39,000views,26,000plays,and1,400comments. 
99%haveleftfavorableopinionsaboute-gens,anywherefrommoderatelyrestrainedtohigh-exaltedpraise.Thankstoourfans,wenowhaveasupportspanningtheworld.Over54%ofouraudienceisfromtheUnitedStates; 
about36%isfromEuropeancountries,andtherestAsia,AfricaandAustralia.Keye-genslistenersareeducatedpeoplewhoareintouchwiththeirfeelings.Theyareoftenengagedincreativeactivitiesinadditiontotheirjobs.
