Who is Trypta-Phunk? 
 
Trypta-Phunk is an instrumental rock/funk group formed by Nashville based musicians Tracy Broussard (drums), Beau Tackett (guitar), Rob Byus (bass), and Philip de Steiguer (Keyboards). Many would consider Trypta-Phunk their "side project" given that they spend most of their time touring with Country superstar and two-time reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, Blake Shelton.  
 
The group focuses on developing original, groove oriented material while utilizing an instrumental approach.  Not a typical funk/rock group, Trypta-Phunk stretches out musically by using a variety of effects, time signatures, and complex arrangments to weave solid melodies throughout a steady groove-fest of rhythms. Most of their songs are born from  "sound check jams" and many hours of dressing room rehearsals. 
 
Trypta-Phunk completed a five week run hosting "Trypta-Phunk Tuesdays" at The Red Rooster in Nashville and has been featured many times at Tom Hurst's Loud Jamz Concert Series.  More shows are in the works, so check back soon for details!    
 
 
THE Trypta-Phunk Album in the Works! 
 
Are you ready for some Trypta-Phunk? The guys are busy in the studio working on their first ever album! Due out in late September/early October, be ready for a musical voyage that will sonically take you where you have never been before. THE Trypta-Phunk album will be over 45 minutes of groove oriented, effect laden rock/funk/fusion. All of the guys have successfully funneled their influences and inspiration into a masterwork that they are all proud to put their names on. They have enlisted the help of studio wizard and founding member of the award-winning Indie pop group, 13-B, Brett Hardin to produce, mix and master the album.
