Lord Jesus

As we prepare our hearts

For this Christmas season

We come before

You with hope and trust

We long for a celebration

That is not like the others

A Christmas filled

With your presence

Your peace and your protection

Lord we pray

That this Christmas will be

A time of true connection

And not defined

By the busyness of the season

But by the love and grace

That you brought into the world

Through your birth

Let this be a time

Where our hearts

Are drawn closer to you

And to those we love

We ask for your divine protection

Over our homes

Our families and everyone

Preparing to celebrate

Guard us from harm

From division

And from distractions

That may pull us away

From the true meaning

Of this holy season

Surround us

With your angels

Shielding us

With your peace and safety

May this Christmas

Be a reflection of your love

A time of reconciliation

Hope and giving

Help us to reach

Out to those in need

To bring comfort to the lonely

And to share the joy of your birth

With those around us

Fill our gatherings with laughter

Our hearts with gratitude

And our lives

With your unshakable peace

Thank you Lord

For the gift of Christmas

A reminder of the hope

And salvation

You brought into the world
