There’s nothing now that I can say

For things must change between us

Though if I could persuade the world

To stand still now for a moment

To turn todays into tomorrows

To keep apart the joys from sorrows

Then I should at least have this

This time of bliss between us

To keep away bitter reproach

From a love that failed to survive

The growth of our separate natures

The tests by which time divides the ages

And when at last I fall again
