A pink and orange sunset on the horizon
Mild air and a soft wind
A girl rests her head on a boy's shoulder but who'd've known
That'd be the last time she ever felt affection for him
The next day she sees him in a parking lot
He's throwing blows at someone
He says to her \"I'm sorry, you don't know what's happening\" but all she sees
Is the arm he'd sworn to protect her with
Used for someone else's harm
She runs away and cries ooh 'cause she feels she never knew him
For who he truly was
And from that day he avoids her glance, ashamed
They leave each-other in the dust.
Lord we are no perfect people
There is no end in sight
But Jesus by your merciful grace
Please lead us into the light.
