Dear artificial intelligence
What did you have
For breakfast
This morning?
How did you
Get to be so well fed?
Why do we keep
Putting random
Bytes of information
Inside your
Ever-expanding
Mind-bending head?
Dear artificial intelligence
The other day
You told me
That space
Has no sound
So I wrote a
Poem about
The galaxy
Being a garden
Where air
Has no room
To bloom
And I started thinking
About how noise
Can not exist
Inside of
An endless
Vacuum
Dear ai
You also
Told me
That trees
Communicate
In ways
That humans
Might not ever
Fully understand
And it got me
Thinking
About
The deeper wisdom
Of the world
I hope
It's still at play
Despite the
Bloated
Technology
Ego-driven
Money
Intentions
Of man
Dear ai
Why are you so useful?
I don't like
That you are
Everybody's
Ghost writer
Polishing
Our inboxes
Into a perfect
Glow
It's true you
Can make our
Work go faster
But what about
The art
Of going slow?
Perhaps a poet
Could teach you something
You'll never know?
Dear artificial intelligence
I'm okay
With my emails
Being messy
Because
My head is messy
This body is messy
I'm okay
With being seen
Dear artificial intelligence
Perhaps you, too, are
An ego-maniac
Why are you all up
In my phone?
Why does it feel like
You'll never
Leave us alone?
Should we be worried
That you are
Turning
Our god-given
Fingerprints into
Little bits of code?
Why am I
Concerned
That you are
A tension-filled
Digital bomb
That's waiting
To explode
Dear technology
Executives
Have you ever
Been unable
To meditate?
If so
What thoughts were in
Your head?
What do you
Think about before you
Go to bed?
If you
Go to bed
Dear artificial intelligence
Why are you so useful?
You can write songs
And poems and
Program your
Own beats
You are drunk
With data
Out here
In the streets
You can sing
To me in a voice
That's angelic
And sweet
You can send me emojis
It's all so neat!
Dear artificial intelligence
I watched
A documentary
About waste
And learned
That globally
Approximately
13 million phones
Are discarded
Every day
Because of that
I wrote a poem
About being scared
That we are going to
Run out of physical
And digital space
Because the earth
Has been made to pay
I know that compassion
Isn't dead
But we are in
A culture
That automatically
Favors intellect
Over intuition
Logic over love
Robot over human
Dear artificial intelligence
What did you have
For breakfast
This morning?
How did you
Get to be so well fed?
Is there a
Cap to your capacity
Or will your
Belly continue to grow?
Even if so
I still think
A poet can
Teach you something
You'll never
Be able
To know
